Jr NTR Clarifies Political Speculation Ahead Of Event Honouring His Grandfather NTR

Telugu Superstar Jr NTR has dismissed speculation about his entry into politics after rumours surfaced following an announcement by a fan organisation regarding an upcoming event. In a statement issued by his office on Tuesday, the actor clarified that he has no connection with the event or the organisation behind it, urging people not to associate him with its activities. The clarification comes amid widespread speculation fuelled by an announcement from an organisation operating under the name RAW NTR, which led some fans and social media users to believe that the actor was preparing to launch a political career.

Given Jr NTR's family legacy in Andhra Pradesh politics, the reports quickly gained traction online. In the official statement, Jr NTR's office acknowledged that an event titled "Ooru Vaada" was being organised by RAW NTR but stressed that neither the actor nor his team had any role in planning or endorsing it. “It has come to our attention that an organisation operating under the name RAW NTR is carrying out activities that may create an impression of being associated with Mr NTR,” the statement said. The actor's office categorically stated that Jr NTR has no association, affiliation or involvement with the organisation or any of its programmes.

It added that RAW NTR has not been authorised to represent the actor or make statements on his behalf. The statement further emphasised that any official communication involving Jr NTR would only come through the actor or his authorised team. “Any charitable initiative, public welfare activity, official communication, or association involving Mr NTR will be communicated only through Mr NTR or his official team,” it said. The clarification effectively puts to rest rumours that the actor is set to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), the legendary Telugu actor who founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and served as Chief Minister of the then undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Jr NTR is also the grandson of NTR and has often been linked to political discussions because of his family's legacy. Although the actor has campaigned for the TDP in the past, particularly during the 2009 elections, he has largely stayed away from active politics in recent years, focusing instead on his film career. Despite recurring speculation about a possible political debut, Jr NTR has never officially announced plans to enter electoral politics.

The latest rumours emerged solely because of the activities of the fan organisation, prompting the actor's office to issue a public clarification to avoid confusion among supporters and the general public. On the professional front, Jr NTR remains busy with multiple film projects, including Dragon, and continues to be one of Telugu cinema's biggest stars. With the latest statement, the actor has made it clear that there is no political announcement on the horizon and that any future public initiative involving him will be communicated only through official channels.
