Actor and musician Shruti Haasan has moved into a new home in her hometown of Chennai and marked the occasion by performing a traditional griha pravesh ceremony. Glimpses from the housewarming rituals surfaced on social media through fan pages and paparazzi accounts, showing the actor participating in the puja dressed in traditional attire. The ceremony included customary rituals, sweets prepared for the occasion and the symbolic handover of the keys to her new residence.

The photographs showed Shruti seated on the floor while performing the religious rituals associated with entering a new home. The intimate ceremony reflected traditional customs observed during a griha pravesh, which is considered an auspicious beginning for a new residence. Fans congratulated the actor on social media, with many expressing excitement over her return to Chennai through the purchase of the new property.

While the Chennai home marks a new chapter for Shruti, she also owns a residence in Mumbai that has previously attracted attention for its distinctive design. The apartment was showcased in filmmaker Farah Khan's YouTube vlog, offering viewers a look at interiors that reflect Shruti's artistic personality rather than a conventional luxury aesthetic. The home features high ceilings, large windows, colourful artwork, abundant indoor plants and unfinished walls that contribute to its rustic character.

A significant portion of the Mumbai residence is dedicated to Shruti's creative interests. The collection features books, posters, anime figurines, decorative items, disco balls and a knife gifted to her by her father, veteran actor Kamal Haasan. The actor has also reserved space for her creative alter ego, Fiona.

Music plays a central role in the design of Shruti's Mumbai home, which houses a piano, several guitars and other musical instruments. One of the guitars features a distinctive gas mask design, reflecting her unconventional artistic style. The residence also includes a spacious kitchen, where she enjoys cooking, and open areas that she uses for composing music and entertaining friends.

On the professional front, Shruti Haasan was last seen in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie in 2025. Earlier this year, she also appeared in a song from Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. She is next set to appear in the upcoming films Aakasamlo Oka Tara and Train, continuing her career across both acting and music while beginning a new chapter in her newly acquired Chennai home.
