Trade Analyst Predicts ₹45 Crore Day 1 Collection For Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to deliver a massive opening at the Indian box office, with trade analyst Ramesh Bala predicting that the Tom Holland-led superhero film could collect around ₹42 crore to ₹45 crore gross on its first day across all languages. The film, scheduled to release on July 30, has recorded strong advance bookings and is being projected as one of the biggest Hollywood openings in India this year.

Speaking about the film’s box office prospects, Bala said the advance booking response has been exceptionally strong, particularly in metropolitan cities and premium formats. He believes the film has generated significant demand among MCU fans, families and young audiences, creating momentum ahead of its theatrical release. According to his estimates, the movie could earn ₹140 crore to ₹150 crore gross during its opening weekend if audience interest continues at the same pace.

The projected opening would place Spider-Man: Brand New Day well ahead of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which reportedly earned ₹20.76 crore gross (₹17.40 crore net) on its first day in India. If Bala’s prediction comes true, Spider-Man’s opening collection would be more than double that of Nolan’s epic, despite both films competing for premium screens and audience attention.

While The Odyssey continues to occupy several premium screens, Bala believes the competition will not significantly impact Spider-Man’s launch. He said the Marvel film has secured strong screen availability across multiplexes and single screens, with additional support from premium viewing formats such as ScreenX, 4DX, EPIQ, ICE and other large-format experiences. However, limited IMAX availability due to existing commitments for other films could slightly affect its premium-screen presence.

The film is also generating strong excitement among fans, with Bala noting that the buzz around Brand New Day is among the strongest for a Spider-Man release in India. Unlike Spider-Man: No Way Home, which benefited heavily from the return of earlier Spider-Man actors, the upcoming film is building anticipation through its own storyline and franchise appeal. However, Bala said the film’s long-term box office performance will depend on audience reactions and word-of-mouth after release.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie. Directed as part of Marvel’s ongoing superhero franchise, the film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal in key roles. The movie’s performance in India will be closely watched as Hollywood releases continue to compete strongly in the country’s expanding theatrical market.
