Tom Holland Injured On 'Spider-Man' Set, Filming Temporarily Suspended

Actor suffers concussion during stunt; production of next Spider-Man installment paused.

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been suspended after actor Tom Holland sustained an injury on set. The 29-year-old, who stars as the web-slinging superhero, was reportedly hurt during a stunt mishap and was promptly taken to a hospital, where he received treatment for a concussion, according to The Sun. The incident has sparked concerns about safety measures on the set of the film, scheduled for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a notable cast, including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colon-Zayas. Holland announced the start of filming last month via a social media post, sharing an image of himself in the Spider-Man suit with the caption, “Are you ready? - 7.31.2026.” The production pause raises questions about potential delays, though the studio has yet to confirm the impact on the filming schedule or Holland’s recovery timeline.

Beyond the Spider-Man franchise, Holland is set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, slated for release on July 17, 2026. The film, which follows Odysseus’ arduous journey home after the Trojan War, boasts a high-profile cast, including Matt Damon, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, and Charlize Theron.
