Sonu Sood Reacts To Kangana Ranaut's Comments On Gen Z

Actors clash over remarks about younger generation.

Actor Sonu Sood has criticised BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about Gen Z protesters, calling the comments inappropriate and stressing the importance of respecting young people. Speaking to the media, Sonu said that young audiences play a crucial role in shaping the careers of public figures and that their opinions and support should not be ignored.

When asked about Kangana’s comments, Sonu initially said he had not heard the exact statement. However, he spoke about the importance of public support and the relationship between celebrities and their audiences. He said that young people are among those who help actors achieve success and that everyone should make an effort to stay connected with them.

Sonu highlighted that every profession depends on public trust and acceptance. He said that whether someone is an actor, doctor, or belongs to any other field, their relevance comes from the connection they build with people. He added that public figures should carefully consider their words before making statements that may affect others.

After being informed that Kangana had reportedly referred to Gen Z protesters as “Generation Gutter,” Sonu reacted strongly and described such remarks as shameful if they were indeed made. He said that people should follow the principle of thinking carefully before speaking, adding that the public holds significant importance in the lives of those in the public eye.

The controversy began after Kangana Ranaut criticised Gen Z protesters in a social media post over the language and behaviour displayed during demonstrations at Jantar Mantar and other locations. She described the content shared from the protests as offensive and criticised what she called inappropriate language and conduct by some participants.

Kangana also accused some protesters of misusing their freedom and made comments about their lifestyle choices and dependence on their parents. Her remarks sparked criticism from several people online, with discussions emerging over the way young protesters and the wider Gen Z community were being portrayed. Sonu Sood’s response has added another voice to the ongoing debate surrounding the comments.
