Raghav Juyal Returns to Comedy, Credits Aryan Khan for Restoring His Industry Faith
Raghav Juyal returns to comedy, crediting Aryan Khan’s direction and new industry trust after Kill.
Actor-dancer Raghav Juyal has revealed that his return to comedy in Aryan Khan's directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, was a deliberate choice after consciously rejecting numerous offers in the genre to establish himself as a versatile, serious performer. Speaking about the series, which reunites him with Kill co-star Lakshya, Juyal shared that the intense roles in projects like Kill (2024), Gyaarah Gyaarah (2024), and Yudhra (2024) were strategic steps to shift perceptions. "People came to me with so many comedy films in the last few years, but I said no to all of them consciously. I purposely did Kill first, as I had to prove myself as a serious actor," he said.
The gamble paid off spectacularly, with Kill's global acclaim opening doors to lead roles. "It opened a lot of doors for me, as the makers started seeing something different in me post that. Now they are taking me as a lead, as they have the faith that I can do it well," Juyal added, emphasizing how the film's success transformed industry offers. In The Ba***ds of Bollywood, he plays a pivotal supporting role alongside Lakshya, describing their on-screen chemistry as seamless: "We work as a unit now. Hamari dosti bahut gehri hai, so it becomes easy for us to work together."
Juyal reserved special praise for first-time director Aryan Khan, crediting him for addressing his initial hesitations about portraying the hero's friend. "Aryan took special care of me. He gave me great scenes and made sure that all my apprehensions were addressed," he revealed, noting Aryan's bold vision: "He is such a brave director. People take years to find their voice, but he knew from the first project what he wanted to show, and he was unapologetic about it." The collaboration has fostered a deep bond, with Juyal now considering the Khan family—including Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan—as his own.

The actor acknowledged a seismic shift in his public image, moving beyond his dancer-host roots from Dance India Dance and reality shows. "Achanak se actor wali pehchaan zyada ho gayi hai. My audience on the internet has seen my journey and been there with me all along, and my success has been personal for them," he reflected, expressing gratitude for fans who have followed his evolution.
As The Ba***ds of Bollywood continues to trend, Juyal's strategic pivot has solidified his position as one of Hindi cinema's most exciting multi-hyphenates, with audiences eagerly anticipating his next moves in both comedic and dramatic spheres. "Acting sab karte hain, but the audience has lived my journey with me. I want to give back more to them," he concluded, hinting at bigger things ahead.
