O'Romeo Week One: Rs 47.15 Crore Collected as Night Shows Drive Highest Day 7 Footfall

O'Romeo completes its first week with Rs 47.15 crore total as the Rs 50 crore milestone approaches.

The box office performance of O'Romeo continues to show steady momentum, with the film inching closer to the ₹50 crore mark after completing its first week in theatres.

Headlined by Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial collected ₹3.15 crore on Day 7 at the Indian box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the film’s total domestic collection has reached ₹47.15 crore.

Occupancy data indicates modest but improving footfall through the day. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 8.14% on Thursday. Morning shows opened at 5.63%, rising to 8.27% in the afternoon. Evening shows logged 7.86%, while night shows saw the highest turnout at 10.80%.

Despite receiving a mixed critical response, Bhardwaj remains confident about the film’s long-term performance. In an interview with PTI, the director asserted that the film would eventually rank among the most successful projects of his career, expressing pride in the “violence-and-love story” he has created.

The film draws inspiration from Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi and follows gangster Ustara, played by Kapoor, who goes into exile after killing a don’s brother. He later helps Afsha Qureshi, also known as Rani Sharma, portrayed by Dimri.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Vikrant Massey, the film had faced legal hurdles prior to release. A petition filed by Sanober Shaikh objected to the portrayal of her father, but the Mumbai court allowed the film’s scheduled February 13 release. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O'Romeo now looks set to cross the ₹50 crore milestone in the coming days.
