Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban End Marriage After Nineteen Years Together

Reports confirm the Hollywood actor and country star have been living separately amid a split.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, the Australian power couple known for their enduring Hollywood-country music romance, have separated after nearly two decades together, multiple sources confirmed on Monday. The 58-year-old Oscar-winning actress and the 57-year-old country star, married since June 2006, have been living apart since early summer, with Urban reportedly moving out of their shared Nashville home.

TMZ first reported the news, citing insiders who described the split as amicable but one-sided, noting Kidman had been "fighting to save the marriage" and "didn't want this." No divorce filing has been announced, and representatives for both have not commented.

The separation ends a union that began at the 2005 G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles, where the pair bonded over their shared Australian roots. They wed in a lavish Sydney ceremony the following year, shortly after Kidman divorced Tom Cruise in 2001 following an 11-year marriage that produced two adopted children, Isabella and Connor. Kidman and Urban welcomed daughters Sunday Rose, now 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, via surrogate, building a blended family in Nashville.

Early challenges included Urban's battle with alcohol addiction, for which Kidman organised an intervention leading to his rehab stint just months after their wedding—a testament to their early resilience. The couple often credited mutual support for their longevity, with Kidman telling People in April 2025, "I’m so lucky that I have Keith, who’s just my love... That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to."

Despite public signs of harmony—such as Kidman's June 2025 Instagram post celebrating their anniversary and their joint appearance at a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville that month—sources told Variety and Page Six the rift had been brewing quietly among close circles. "Sometimes relationships just run their course," one insider remarked to the New York Post, while People reported Kidman's sister Antonia as a "rock" during the transition, with the family rallying around her.

Urban, currently on his U.S. tour promoting the September 2024 album High, has acquired a separate residence in Nashville, leaving Kidman to manage family life at their primary home.

As news spreads, reactions on social media range from shock to sympathy, with fans lamenting the end of what was seen as a rare stable celebrity marriage. Kidman, fresh off wrapping Practical Magic 2 (set for release September 18, 2026) and attending the Nashville Film Festival, continues her prolific career, including recent roles in Babygirl and The Perfect Couple. Urban's tour runs through mid-October. While the future remains uncertain, the split underscores the pressures of high-profile lives, even for those who appeared unbreakable.
