The trailer teases Rhaenyra’s return to King’s Landing as she pushes forward in her campaign for power, while the struggle for the Iron Throne appears to become increasingly unstable. The footage suggests a season defined by large-scale battles, dragon warfare, and deepening political fractures within the realm.
A key moment in the trailer features a tense exchange between Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen, in which Alicent warns that the burden of the crown brings devastating consequences. Season 2 previously ended with a fragile understanding between the two, as Alicent agreed to support Rhaenyra’s claim in exchange for personal freedom.
