Cillian Murphy Features in Taylor Swift's Opalite MV Alongside Graham Norton Cast

The internet is buzzing after Actor Cillian Murphy made a surprise cameo in Taylor Swift’s latest music video, Opalite, prompting fans to jokingly declare that he has officially entered the “Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe.” The video, which is currently streaming on Spotify and Apple Music Premium, features several familiar faces from a 2025 episode of The Graham Norton Show. Alongside Murphy, the cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, and host Graham Norton himself.

Murphy appears briefly in the opening moments of the video, featuring in a billboard advertisement and delivering a voiceover. Domhnall Gleeson plays Swift’s former love interest within the storyline, while Lewis Capaldi is seen as a photographer. Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith appear in television advertisements woven into the video’s narrative, and Graham Norton also makes a short cameo.

Murphy’s appearance quickly caught fans off guard and sparked enthusiastic reactions on social media. One user on X wrote, “Cillian Murphy stans swore he was annoyed at Taylor Swift and hated her, only for him to make a cameo in the Opalite MV.” Another joked, “Cillian Murphy is officially a part of the Taylor Swift cinematic universe.” The cameo also inspired a wave of memes referencing Murphy’s past film and television roles.

The official version of the Opalite music video is scheduled to premiere on YouTube on February 8 at 6:30 pm IST.  Opalite is the second song from Swift’s album The Life of a Showgirl to receive a music video, following Fate of Ophelia, which was released on October 3, 2025, alongside the album.
