Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds to Miss Met Gala 2025 Amid Justin Baldoni Feud

With two legal battles looming in relation her accusations against Juston Baldoni, Lively and Reynolds are expected to keep a low profile in the coming months, making their Met Gala absence all the more notable.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will reportedly skip the 2025 Met Gala as the actress remains embroiled in a legal battle with her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star, Justin Baldoni.

According to US Weekly, a source revealed that the couple has opted out of the prestigious New York City fundraiser, saying, “She’s not a Kardashian that goes every year.” Lively and Reynolds last attended the event in 2022 when she co-chaired the gala in a dazzling Statue of Liberty-inspired gown.

Their absence comes amid an ongoing legal feud stemming from Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, which was filed in December 2024. The actress accused him of sexual harassment on set and orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Baldoni denied the allegations and hit back with a $400 million defamation countersuit against Lively, Reynolds, and her publicist.

“The painful reality is that Ms. Lively is not alone in being sued for defamation after speaking up about being sexually harassed at work,” a spokesperson for Lively stated. The high-profile case is set to go to trial next year.

Meanwhile, Baldoni is also suing his former publicist, Stephanie Jones, alleging she leaked private text messages that fueled the conflict. His lawsuit claims Jones accessed private messages from Jennifer Abel’s phone and handed them over to Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane.

Jones’ attorney, Kristin Tahler, defended her client, stating, “Ms. Jones’ lawsuit is based entirely on facts and concrete evidence.”

With both legal battles looming, Lively and Reynolds are expected to keep a low profile in the coming months, making their Met Gala absence all the more notable.
