Thadoi Yumnam wins Miss Universe Manipur 2026, qualifies for national pageant.

Thadoi Yumnam has been crowned Miss Universe Manipur 2026 at a state-level beauty pageant held in Imphal on June 21, 2026. Her win at the grand finale marks a significant achievement, earning her the right to represent Manipur at the upcoming Miss Universe India 2026 competition scheduled for July.

The event took place at the Chandrakrit Auditorium and was organised under the direction of fashion designer and State Director Robert Naorem. The pageant was conducted in collaboration with the Manipur AIDS Control Society and For Better Kangleipak, reflecting an effort to combine entertainment with awareness-driven initiatives and community engagement.

Around 20 finalists from different parts of Manipur participated in the competition, which included multiple rounds designed to test confidence, communication skills, leadership qualities, and advocacy perspectives. Judges evaluated contestants not only on appearance but also on their ability to express ideas and demonstrate social awareness through structured responses and stage presence.

The grand finale was attended by several dignitaries, including Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, who was present in a private capacity. Organisers and guests highlighted the growing prominence of Manipur in India’s pageant ecosystem, noting that the state has consistently produced talent that has gone on to achieve recognition at national and international levels.

Thadoi’s victory adds to this growing reputation, reinforcing Manipur’s emerging presence in India’s fashion and beauty industry. Her selection is seen as an important step forward as she prepares to compete at the national level, where contestants from across the country will vie for the Miss Universe India 2026 crown.

Following her win, Thadoi expressed gratitude to her family, mentors, and supporters for their encouragement throughout her journey. She said the title had been a long-standing dream and emphasized her intention to represent Manipur with pride while also using the platform to highlight meaningful social causes at the national stage.
