Sanjeeta Bhattacharya Turns Princess Jasmine For Her Quirky Sangeet Celebration
Sanjeeta’s sangeet featured costumes, with her dressed as Princess Jasmine.
Actor and singer Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, known for her role in Jawan, and music producer Raag Sethi brought a playful pop-culture twist to their wedding celebrations by turning their sangeet into an unconventional costume party. The couple blended their love for music, cinema and characters with a celebration that moved away from the traditional format of choreographed family performances and conventional wedding outfits.
The sangeet had the atmosphere of an intimate live music gathering, with musicians performing and friends taking over the stage as guests joined in the celebrations. The standout feature was the themed dress code, which encouraged attendees to arrive as popular characters from films, cartoons and other pop-culture favourites. Guests appeared in costumes inspired by Jasmine, Timon and Pumbaa, Wolverine and Mario, creating a colourful mix of cosplay and Indian festive fashion.
Sanjeeta chose Princess Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin as inspiration for her own look. She wore a peacock-teal two-piece outfit decorated with elaborate silver and gold embroidery, intricate threadwork and fringe detailing. The ensemble featured a cropped sweetheart-neck top with off-shoulder straps, fitted harem-style trousers and a sheer split-skirt overlay, combining the character's visual identity with elements of Indian festive styling.

She completed the look with a statement silver-and-green choker, matching drop earrings and a delicate maang tikka. Her hair was styled into a long side braid and finished with a subtle headpiece reminiscent of Jasmine's crown. The overall styling retained the recognisable elements of the animated character while giving the outfit a distinctly Indian celebration-ready appearance.
Raag Sethi also joined the theme, drawing inspiration from Flynn Rider from Tangled. His outfit featured a white high-collared shirt layered beneath a structured blue vest, along with gold-buckled leather straps and tan trousers. A brown leather crossbody bag and wide waist belt echoed Flynn's signature satchel, while round eyeglasses added another playful touch to the character-inspired ensemble.
The celebration reflects how some modern weddings are increasingly being shaped around couples' personalities, interests and shared cultural references. Themed dress codes, live music, personalised rituals and curated experiences are becoming ways for couples to create celebrations that feel more individual. Sanjeeta and Raag's pop-culture sangeet combined those elements with traditional festive styling, giving their wedding festivities an unconventional and personal character.
