In the tweet, Kapoor wrote, “Happy Happy Birthday dear one! You were in your mum’s tummy when I was serenading her in Bobby in 1973 lol.” The playful message, intended as a warm gesture, was misinterpreted by some social media users, leading to rumors that Khanna was Kapoor’s daughter.
Khanna recounted the incident with humor, noting how the tweet “took on a life of its own” as online speculation grew. “I almost became a Kapoor because of Alia’s father-in-law,” she quipped, explaining how the misunderstanding prompted Kapoor to issue a clarification to address the trolling and rumors. “He had to clarify, saying, ‘No, I am so sorry,’” Khanna added.
