Tamannaah Bhatia Inspired Mrunal Thakur To Appreciate Female Friendships

Mrunal Thakur credits Tamannaah Bhatia for inspiring her love of female friendships, sharing a bond like sisters.

Actress Mrunal, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, recently opened up about the significance of female friendships in her life, particularly crediting co-star Tamannaah. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Mrunal revealed that she had few female friends growing up but has now begun to cherish these bonds.

“Tamannaah is the purest. She has my heart, she is the best. That woman gives me so much strength,” Mrunal said. “She’s always like, ‘Chill, have fun, enjoy life.’ It’s like a sisterhood in a way. Growing up, I always thought that I could never be friends with girls… But now, I’ve started really enjoying female friendships. It’s beautiful.”

The actress elaborated on the emotional support and camaraderie she shares with Tamannaah. “It’s just motivating each other, having fun, enjoying life, and celebrating yourself. We make sure we’re there for each other whenever they need us. I can be completely unfiltered with her. I can just say anything, like, ‘Yaar, this happened,’ and she’ll always have a solution for everything.”

Mrunal and Tamannaah first bonded on a flight to Hyderabad, and the duo later collaborated in separate segments of the 2023 Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2. Their friendship, according to Mrunal, has brought a new dimension to her professional and personal life, allowing her to embrace female companionship in a more meaningful way.

On the work front, Mrunal is gearing up for the release of Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Shaneil Deo. The trailer, recently unveiled, highlights the intense journey of two dacoits, interwoven with layered backstories, high-octane action sequences, and an evolving dynamic between characters.

Originally slated for a March 19 release, the film’s premiere has been rescheduled to April 10, 2026, reportedly to avoid clashes with other major releases, including Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha promises to offer audiences a compelling cinematic experience blending action, drama, and emotional storytelling.
