Akshay Kumar Reveals Childhood Struggles, Flunked Between KG And Class 9

Akshay Kumar shares childhood school failures on Wheel of Fortune ahead of Bhooth Bangla release.

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar recently shared a candid glimpse into his school days while hosting the ongoing reality show Wheel of Fortune. Speaking to the live audience in Mumbai, he revealed that he had flunked three times between Kindergarten and ninth grade, highlighting the lighter side of his childhood struggles.

During the episode, Kumar introduced his childhood friend Jinesh from the audience, reminiscing about their years together. Recalling his days as a backbencher, he said, “Hum log KG se saath mein hain aur KG se 9th grade ke beech mein hum log teen-teen baar fail hue hain.” Playfully nudging his friend, he added that spending too much time together was the reason for his failures, bringing laughter to the audience.

The conversation offered fans a rare glimpse of the actor beyond his polished on-screen persona. Known for his disciplined lifestyle and work ethic in films, Kumar’s revelation underscored the humble beginnings and ordinary challenges that shaped him before he became one of Bollywood’s top stars.

On the professional front, Kumar is gearing up for the release of Priyadarshan’s upcoming comedy-horror Bhooth Bangla. The film features a star-studded cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav. The trailer shows Kumar insisting on getting married at the haunted palace of Mangalpur, which has been under a long-standing curse of Vadhusur. Tabu’s character serves as the bridge between the human and ghostly worlds, providing a central link in Priyadarshan’s narrative.

Originally slated for release on May 15, 2026, Bhooth Bangla will now hit theaters earlier on April 16, 2026, reportedly to avoid competition at the box office. This marks the first collaboration between Kumar and Priyadarshan since their 2010 film Khatta Meetha. The movie is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films and produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R. Kapoor.

As audiences await the film’s release, Kumar’s candid confession about his school days adds a relatable dimension to the actor’s persona. From a backbencher who flunked multiple times to one of Bollywood’s most prolific performers, his journey continues to inspire fans across India and beyond.
