Singer Abhijeet's Son Stranded in Dubai Amid Middle East Crisis — Father Pleads for Help
Singer Abhijeet sought government help for his son stranded in Dubai amid Middle East conflict and later deleted the post.
Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sought assistance from the Government of India to facilitate the safe return of his son from Dubai amid escalating tensions in West Asia. In a now-deleted social media post, the playback singer expressed concern that his son, Jay Bhattacharya, was stranded in Dubai following disruptions linked to the ongoing regional conflict. The appeal briefly drew attention online before being removed.
In his Instagram message, Abhijeet described the situation as “an incredibly distressing time” for his family. He urged the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene and help ensure his son’s safe return at the earliest. Tagging senior officials and airlines in the post, the singer publicly requested urgent support and intervention to resolve the situation.
The development comes against the backdrop of rising hostilities in the Middle East. On February 28, large explosions were reported in Tehran after Israel launched what it described as preventive missile strikes against Iran, significantly heightening regional tensions. The strikes occurred amid ongoing strain between the United States and Iran over a potential nuclear agreement, fuelling concerns of broader military escalation.

Reports indicated that several missiles struck areas along University Street and in the Jomhouri district of the Iranian capital. The confrontation is part of a broader shadow conflict between Israel and Iran that intensified during 2024 and 2025, marked by direct military engagements including aerial strikes and missile exchanges. The volatility has disrupted travel and heightened anxiety among expatriates and travellers in parts of the region.
Although Dubai in the United Arab Emirates has not been directly reported as a conflict zone, heightened security concerns and flight disruptions across West Asia have affected movement in and out of certain destinations. Abhijeet did not specify the precise nature of the travel constraints his son was facing, and no official statement has been issued by authorities regarding the matter.
Abhijeet, who has sung thousands of songs across more than 1,000 films and remains a prominent figure in Indian playback music, later deleted his appeal from social media. It remains unclear whether the issue has since been resolved. The Ministry of External Affairs has routinely issued advisories and assistance to Indian nationals during periods of regional instability, though no direct comment on this specific case has been made public.
