Janhvi Kapoor Urges Fans To Ignore Clickbait Trolls Targeting Arjun Kapoor

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has spoken candidly about the impact of social media trolling, particularly when it targets her brother, Arjun Kapoor. In a conversation with Grazia, she highlighted how online harassment can cross the line from criticism into bullying and emphasized the need to distance oneself from such negativity.

Janhvi acknowledged that while she generally takes criticism in good spirit, personal attacks aimed at her brother are unacceptable. “Negativity fuels negativity, and you just have to remove yourself from it,” she said, stressing the importance of not internalizing online harassment.

The actor also shed light on the mechanics of social media culture, noting that much of the content is driven by engagement rather than genuine critique. “From what I understand about social media culture, everyone wants prominence, views and virality. So, if they are making content about you, you're just a scapegoat; they're just using your name for clickbait, rage bait… That’s the only purpose you serve,” she explained.

She advised maintaining a practical perspective and not letting such content affect one’s mental space. “Everyone's doing what they have to, sab ghar chalane ki koshish kar rahe hai. You need to be transactional—nothing is that deep. It's stupid to occupy your brain for more than five minutes with this,” Janhvi said, adding that developing this mindset took time.

Reflecting on her early career, Janhvi admitted she struggled with confidence, especially following the tragic passing of her mother, late superstar Sridevi. She revealed that her initial lack of confidence affected her enthusiasm for fashion and public appearances.

Janhvi Kapoor will next appear in the film Peddi, starring Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu, scheduled for release in May 2026.
