Sikh Community Reacts To Fake Dhurandhar 2 Poster; Truth About AI-Generated Image Emerges
The viral Dhurandhar 2 poster showing Ranveer Singh smoking in a turban is AI-made, not an official release.
Ahead of the release of Dhurandhar 2, a controversy emerged over a poster purportedly showing Ranveer Singh wearing a turban and smoking, allegedly hurting Sikh religious sentiments. The poster, which circulated online, was criticized for depicting the Sikh turban alongside tobacco use—a practice strictly prohibited in Sikhism. The backlash gained attention after Paramjit Singh Sarna, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi State), shared the image on X, condemning it as offensive and a misrepresentation of Sikh beliefs.
Sarna’s post claimed that the poster showed a character from the film’s “Pralay” song, describing the imagery as deeply disrespectful to Sikh traditions. He urged authorities to investigate and take action, arguing that the depiction trivialized the sacred Sikh turban and violated core religious principles. In Sikhism, tobacco consumption is considered a grave breach of the code of conduct, and portrayals suggesting otherwise are seen as offensive.
However, social media users and fact-checkers quickly clarified that the poster is not official. Reports indicate that the image is fan-made and possibly AI-generated, and that the film does not feature a song titled “Pralay.” Users pointed out discrepancies such as the use of Saregama Music branding, whereas the official music rights for Dhurandhar 2 are held by T-Series.

Film enthusiasts and commentators highlighted that the poster has no connection to the official release, and the legal notice and outrage were based on misinformation. The clarification underscores the importance of verifying sources before public criticism, particularly on sensitive cultural and religious matters.
Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, is the sequel to last year’s highest-grossing Hindi film. The second installment is scheduled to release tomorrow, with paid previews happening today. Official posters, trailers, and music releases have confirmed that the film’s marketing does not include the disputed image or song.
This episode serves as a reminder of the rapid spread of misinformation online, especially around high-profile films, and highlights the need for careful verification before raising public or legal concerns.
