Sara Arjun Names Ranveer Singh Her All-Time Favourite Co-Star in Dhurandhar

Sara Arjun praises Ranveer Singh as her favourite co-star in Dhurandhar and dismisses age-gap controversy.

Actor Sara Arjun, who stars opposite Ranveer Singh in the espionage thriller Dhurandhar, has spoken candidly about her experience working with the Bollywood star. In an exclusive interview, the 20-year-old described Ranveer as a supportive and encouraging co-actor who made her feel completely at ease on set. She said she never felt intimidated by his seniority and praised his collaborative approach to filmmaking.

Calling Ranveer Singh her “most favourite” co-star, Sara said his warmth and professionalism set a benchmark she believes will be hard to surpass. She noted that while Ranveer is deeply invested in his own craft, he is equally attentive to the work of others on set, from fellow actors to technicians. According to her, his ability to treat filmmaking as a team effort made the shooting experience smooth and enriching.

In Dhurandhar, Sara plays Yalina Jamali, the strong-willed daughter of a Pakistani politician, who falls for Ranveer’s character Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian intelligence agent. Beyond their on-screen pairing, the two actors also bonded over their shared Sindhi roots, often discussing culture and food during breaks, which further strengthened their off-screen rapport.

The casting drew significant attention due to the nearly 20-year age gap between the lead actors, sparking intense debate on social media. Addressing the controversy, Sara said she remained largely unaffected as she stays away from social media and was focused solely on the story and her role. She emphasised her belief in “live and let live,” adding that external opinions did not influence her perspective or confidence in the film.

Having grown up on film sets and worked with acclaimed actors across industries, Sara admitted she still experienced “pinch-me” moments while shooting Dhurandhar. She recalled being awestruck by the scale of the project and the presence of veterans like Sanjay Dutt, whose strong aura left a lasting impression on her. Sara will next be seen in the Telugu film Euphoria, set to release on February 6.
