Salman Khan’s Eid 2027 Film Pre-Production Underway, Shooting Expected From April
Salman Khan plans Eid 2027 return with new action-emotion film; pre-production underway, shooting slated to start April.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly planning a return to the Eid release window in 2027, aiming to reclaim the festive slot he has dominated over the years. According to industry sources, the actor is in discussions for a new action-packed commercial entertainer with producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally, who is known for helming hits like Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu and Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi.
The film, still in pre-production, is expected to combine action and emotional elements tailored to Salman Khan’s mass appeal. Sources told Bollywood Hungama that the producer-director duo is coordinating schedules with the actor to ensure the movie is ready for an Eid 2027 release. “It’s a pure commercial entertainer with Salman playing to the gallery. Vamshi plans to present Salman in a way audiences like to see him. Pre-production is in full swing, and the makers aim to take the film on floors in April,” the source added.
The project is set to be a large-scale production, with shooting planned across multiple locations in India and extensive VFX work. While an official announcement is yet to be made, the team is reportedly working to lock the Eid 2027 release window, continuing Salman Khan’s tradition of festival-time blockbusters that appeal to a wide audience.

Salman Khan has historically turned Eid into a prime release period for Bollywood, with films such as Wanted, Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, and Bharat achieving significant box office success. These films have established a loyal audience expectation around his Eid releases, and industry watchers expect similar anticipation for his 2027 project.
Meanwhile, Salman is currently working on Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the film—formerly titled Battle of Galwan—is expected to release later this year, adding to Salman Khan’s already busy production schedule.
If all goes according to plan, Salman Khan could once again dominate the Eid box office in 2027, delivering a high-octane, commercial entertainer that caters to his fan base while continuing his legacy of festival hits. The next year could mark a significant return to the blockbuster space for the Bollywood star.
