Salman Khan Wraps 'Battle of Galwan' Shoot in Grueling 45-Day Schedule

Bollywood icon Salman Khan has concluded an arduous 45-day shoot for his upcoming film, Battle of Galwan, a high-octane war drama based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between India and China. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, known for Shootout at Lokhandwala, the film was shot in the challenging terrains of Leh, Ladakh, and promises to showcase Khan in a never-before-seen avatar.

Lakhia announced the completion of the shoot via Instagram Stories on Wednesday night, sharing a photo with Khan and captioning it, "It's a wrap-45 days." Reflecting on the demanding filming process, he added, "Froze, baked, shivered, ate sand, walked in the Indus, sucked oxygen but still leaving with all those memories that make me smile." The film’s production faced extreme conditions, including high altitudes and cold waters, adding to its raw and authentic appeal.

Mounted on a grand scale, Battle of Galwan combines intense action sequences with patriotic fervor. Khan, 59, stars alongside Chitrangda Singh, who plays the female lead. In a July interview with PTI, Khan described the project as one of the most physically demanding of his career. “Every year, every month, every day it gets more difficult. I’ve had to give more time now for training. This film demands running, kicking, punching, and shooting in Ladakh’s high altitude and cold water,” he said, contrasting it with the different action style required for his other recent project, Sikandar.

Breaking from tradition, Battle of Galwan will not release on Eid, a slot often reserved for Khan’s films, but is slated for a theatrical release in January 2026. The film is poised to deliver a gripping portrayal of valor and sacrifice, cementing Khan’s versatility in a challenging new role.
