Salman Khan’s First Look in Battle of Galwan Ignites Fan Frenzy
Khan described Battle of Galwan as one of the most physically demanding projects of his career.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan thrilled fans by sharing the first look of his upcoming film Battle of Galwan on Instagram, marking the start of production for the patriotic drama. The image, captioned simply “#BattleOfGalwan,” features Khan in an army uniform with a stern expression, sporting a mustache, and standing before a clapperboard indicating “Shot 1.”
Filmed in the rugged terrains of Leh, Ladakh, the visual highlights the film’s intense tone, with Khan’s commanding presence drawing focus against a blurred backdrop. The clapperboard confirms the project’s title and the commencement of shooting, setting the stage for a high-stakes cinematic portrayal of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
The first look sparked an outpouring of excitement on social media, with fans flooding the comments section with praise for Khan’s return to form. Remarks such as “Blockbuster Loading,” “Sultan is back,” and “Bhai looking in form” reflected enthusiasm for his military avatar, with many noting his “old swag” and “Sultan mode.”
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, known for Shootout at Lokhandwala, the film stars Chitrangda Singh opposite Khan and promises a gripping narrative centered on the brutal, high-altitude conflict fought without firearms. A previously released motion poster, showcasing Khan with a bloodied face and the tagline “Over 15,000 feet above sea level, India fought its most brutal battle without firing a single bullet,” further amplified anticipation.
In a recent PTI interview, Khan described Battle of Galwan as one of the most physically demanding projects of his career, citing the challenges of filming in Ladakh’s high-altitude, cold-water conditions. He contrasted the action sequences with his recent film Sikandar, which underperformed at the box office, noting that Battle of Galwan requires extensive physical exertion, including running, kicking, and punching.
With pre-production buzz and Khan’s intense preparation, the film is poised to resonate with audiences seeking a powerful depiction of national pride and resilience, further cementing his legacy in Bollywood’s action-patriotic genre.
