Salman Khan Acted on Heart: Childhood Friend Recalls Building Scenes and Fights

Master Raju shares old stories of Salman Khan's emotional outbursts and easy-going nature.

Actor Salman Khan’s childhood friend and former co-star Raju Shrestha, popularly known as Master Raju, has recalled incidents from the superstar’s younger years, saying the actor’s emotional and impulsive nature often pulled him into controversies.

Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Master Raju described Salman Khan as someone who “works from his heart rather than his mind,” adding that his inability to control emotions at times led to volatile situations. He claimed that during the early phase of his career, the actor would occasionally lose his temper in public.

Without naming specific individuals, Master Raju alleged that Salman Khan once shouted outside the building of an ex-girlfriend and was involved in physical altercations with people. “Sometimes he would go and hurl abuses while standing under somebody’s building. He shouted outside his ex-girlfriend’s building; he would beat up someone,” he said, while also stressing that the actor was “sweet” and “clean at heart”.

The remarks appear to allude to widely reported incidents from the early 2000s, particularly around the time of Salman Khan’s breakup with actor Aishwarya Rai in 2002, when media reports had claimed disturbances outside her residence. Master Raju, however, framed these incidents as outcomes of Salman Khan’s emotional nature rather than malice.

Defending the Bollywood star, he said Salman Khan was never manipulative or calculative and often acted without thinking. “He never thought much before making friends or saying things. He is a very easy person, and that is why he has often been caught in controversies,” he added.

Master Raju also spoke about his long-standing friendship with Salman Khan, recalling that they grew up in the same Bandra neighbourhood and spent time cycling and skating together before Salman entered films. The two later worked together in films such as Baaghi (1990) and Chal Mere Bhai (2000), sharing a personal bond that predates their on-screen association.
