RGV Predicts 'Dhurandhar 2' Will be Biggest Multi-Starrer Ever

Ram Gopal Varma predicts massive success for Ranveer Singh’s sequel amid box office buzz.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has boldly declared that Dhurandhar 2 will become the biggest multi-starrer in the history of cinema. In a recent post on X, RGV emphasized how the first film’s characters have grown enormously in audience perception, turning even supporting roles into “giant superstars.” He argued that true stardom lies in the lasting impact and value these characters hold in viewers’ minds, setting the stage for an unprecedented ensemble-driven spectacle in the sequel. This comes as the original Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, continues its record-breaking run, cementing its status as one of 2025’s biggest Hindi hits.

The first installment, released on December 5, 2025, shattered expectations with its gripping spy thriller narrative inspired by real geopolitical tensions. Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of undercover operative Hamza Ali Mazari (alias Jaskirat Singh Rangi) anchored the film, supported by a powerhouse cast including Akshaye Khanna as antagonist Rehman Dakait, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and others. The movie’s success—crossing massive worldwide collections—has sparked widespread excitement for the sequel, which picks up from the intense cliffhanger and promises even higher stakes in the espionage world.

Dhurandhar 2 is currently in post-production, with director Aditya Dhar editing the trailer, expected to drop in late February 2026. The film is slated for a grand release on March 19, 2026, in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, responding to huge demand from South Indian audiences who embraced the original through word-of-mouth and social media. This pan-India approach positions it as a major contender in the year’s box office landscape, especially with its direct clash against Yash’s Toxic.

RGV’s endorsement adds significant hype, as he has consistently praised Dhurandhar for redefining Indian cinema and challenging dominant trends. His prediction highlights the franchise’s potential to elevate ensemble storytelling, where every character carries star power from the first film’s legacy. Industry observers note that such bold claims from a veteran like Varma could influence audience anticipation and marketing buzz leading up to the release.

As Dhurandhar 2 gears up for its Eid 2026 showdown, the focus remains on delivering a sequel that matches or surpasses the original’s intensity and emotional depth. With Ranveer Singh reprising his role and the ensemble returning (including possible flashbacks for key antagonists), expectations are sky-high. RGV’s statement has already gone viral, fueling discussions on whether this could indeed mark a historic milestone in multi-starrer films.
