Ranveer Goes Full Beast Mode in Dhurandhar Trailer; Internet Calls It ‘Animal 2.0’

Dhurandhar trailer drops and the internet is losing its mind over Ranveer Singh’s terrifying new avatar.

The moment the Dhurandhar trailer hit YouTube, social media exploded into a frenzy that hasn’t calmed down even hours later. Ranveer Singh, sporting a thick beard, bloodshot eyes, and a rage that feels almost demonic, looks completely unrecognisable – and fans are calling it the most ferocious transformation of his career. Directed by Aditya Dhar of URI fame, the film promises raw, unfiltered violence wrapped in a story “inspired by real events” about India’s covert war inside the heart of Pakistani terrorism.

What has truly shocked viewers is how closely the trailer’s energy mirrors Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Tweets like “After Animal, ONLY #Dhurandhar is giving me goosebumps and theatre FOMO” and “Two years after Animal, the alpha energy is BACK” are flooding timelines. One user even declared, “Ranveer watched Animal and said hold my protein shake.” The comparisons are endless, with many claiming this could be the spiritual successor that finally scratches the same itch Animal left behind.

The casting coup has left everyone speechless – Sanjay Dutt as a menacing patriarch, Akshaye Khanna oozing sinister elegance, R. Madhavan looking dangerously calm, and Arjun Rampal bringing pure muscle. Netizens are hailing Aditya Dhar as a “casting god,” with comments like “Every single actor looks born for their role” and “This line-up alone deserves National Awards.” Akshaye Khanna’s chilling dialogue delivery in particular has gone viral, with fans demanding he gets a solo spin-off.

While a section of the audience feels the four-minute trailer could have been tighter, the majority is praising the editing to the skies. “Zero plot spoilers, yet I’m sweating,” wrote one user. Another added, “The editor deserves a raise, a holiday, and a temple – he showed everything and nothing at the same time.” The background score, the slow-motion bloodbaths, and Ranveer screaming “Mera naam yaad rakhna” have already become instant memes.

One big worry floating around? The Censor Board. With extreme gore, brutal action, and dialogues that don’t hold back, many are predicting an ‘A’ certificate bloodbath and possible cuts. “CBFC about to have nightmares,” joked a user, while another pleaded, “Please let this release uncut, we’re tired of watered-down masala.” Mark your calendars – December 5, 2025 – because Dhurandhar is coming to destroy the big screen, and the internet is already seated with popcorn in one hand and anxiety medication in the other.
