Rakesh Bedi's Uri Role and Dhurandhar 2 Character Share Striking Double-Agent Parallels

Fans connect Rakesh Bedi's Uri and Dhurandhar 2 roles, sparking cinematic universe speculation.

A new fan theory is gaining traction around Rakesh Bedi’s roles in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, with audiences speculating whether the former may have subtly foreshadowed the latter. The discussion has added a fresh layer of intrigue to director Aditya Dhar’s latest release.

Directed by Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge—starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal—has become one of the most talked-about films of the year since its release on March 19. Among several fan discussions, one prominent theory focuses on Bedi’s character, Jameel Jamali, a veteran Pakistani politician whose true identity as an Indian agent is revealed in the climax.

The speculation stems from similarities between this role and Bedi’s earlier portrayal in Uri: The Surgical Strike, where he played a senior ISI officer secretly working for India. Fans have pointed out that both characters share themes of dual identity, espionage, and long-term undercover operations, leading to claims that Dhar may have planted narrative seeds years in advance.

The theory gained momentum after a viral clip from Uri resurfaced on X, with users suggesting that the earlier film effectively “spoiled” the twist in Dhurandhar. Several viewers have even coined the idea of an “Aditya Dhar Cinematic Universe,” drawing parallels between the two films’ geopolitical settings and character arcs.

However, not all aspects align perfectly. Observers have noted timeline inconsistencies, as Bedi’s character in Uri operates as an ISI officer during the same period that Jamali is depicted as a Pakistani politician in Dhurandhar. This overlap has raised questions about whether the connection is intentional continuity or simply a thematic coincidence.

Despite the lack of official confirmation from Dhar, the parallels have heightened audience engagement and speculation. Whether the similarities are clever Easter eggs or part of a larger interconnected narrative remains unclear, but the theory has undoubtedly added to the film’s buzz and may shape how viewers interpret future projects from the filmmaker.
