Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound grief over the demise of veteran actor-comedian Govardhan Asrani, hailing him as a "gifted entertainer and a truly versatile artist" who brought joy to generations through his iconic performances. Asrani, renowned for his memorable roles in classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Dhamaal, passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84 after a prolonged battle with age-related ailments.
