Palash Muchhal Erases All Mandhana Videos Online as Their Wedding Collapse Turns Public

Palash Muchhal deletes proposal and celebration videos a day after confirming his cancelled wedding with Smriti Mandhana.

Music Composer Palash Muchhal has scrubbed his Instagram account of cherished memories with Indian Cricketer Smriti Mandhana, including the viral proposal video from DY Patil Stadium and a joyful clip celebrating India's Women's ODI World Cup triumph, just a day after both confirmed the abrupt end to their six-year relationship and planned nuptials. The couple, who had captivated fans with their low-key romance—publicised in July 2024 with a simple fifth-anniversary cake post—were set to wed on November 23, 2025, in Mandhana's hometown of Sangli, Maharashtra, following a fairy-tale proposal amid the World Cup final euphoria in Navi Mumbai last month. However, the ceremony was indefinitely postponed hours before it was due to begin, amid reports of Mandhana's father falling suddenly ill, leading to Palash's hospitalisation for stress in Mumbai.

Mandhana, the 29-year-old opening batter and vice-captain of the Indian women's team who played a starring role in their historic 2025 World Cup victory over South Africa, broke her silence on Sunday via Instagram Stories, confirming the split in a concise yet poignant message. "Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off," she wrote, adding a plea for privacy: "I would like to close this matter here and request everyone to respect the privacy of both the families."

In a parallel post, Muchhal, 34, whose credits include composing for films like Aashiqui 2, echoed the finality while lashing out at swirling rumours of infidelity involving a choreographer at the wedding—claims vehemently denied by the event's performers. "I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship. It has been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something that has been most sacred to me," he stated, vowing "strict legal action" against those spreading falsehoods and describing it as "the most difficult phase of my life."

The deletions have amplified the heartbreak online, with fans dissecting the move as a symbolic severance—Muchhal's account is now a blank slate of professional clips, while Mandhana has unfollowed him but retained her World Cup highlights. Teammate Jemimah Rodrigues' intriguing Instagram activity, including cryptic stories about "trust" and "betrayal", has only fuelled speculation, though she later clarified support for her friend without delving into details. Social media erupted with reactions ranging from sympathy—"Heartbreaking for Smriti after such a high from the World Cup"—to backlash against Muchhal, with users mocking the permanence of his "Smriti" tattoo and questioning his PR handling. Sister Palak Muchhal, a playback singer, broke her silence earlier, expressing faith in "divine timing" and urging positivity amid the family's ordeal.

The saga traces back to October 2025, when Muchhal hinted at marriage during a press event, joking Mandhana would soon be Indore's "daughter-in-law". Their bond, rooted in shared musical passions—Mandhana often crediting Muchhal's support during her career slumps—seemed unbreakable until the wedding eve chaos. Initial reports cited the elder Mandhana's health scare as the sole trigger for postponement, but whispers of deeper issues, including family disagreements over the union's timing post-World Cup, have persisted. Both have since gone radio-silent on personal matters, with Mandhana resuming cricket duties and Muchhal focusing on upcoming projects.

This high-profile fallout, unfolding in the public eye, underscores the pressures on celebrity couples in India's hyper-connected ecosystem, where a stadium proposal can go from viral romance to deleted history in weeks. As fans mourn the "what could have been"—envisioning a power duo blending Cricket glory and Bollywood beats—the duo's calls for grace amid grief remind that some chapters close quietly, leaving room for individual reinvention. With legal threats hanging over rumour-mongers, the focus shifts to healing, though the internet's long memory ensures the story lingers.
