Mastiii 4 Opens Stronger Than 120 Bahadur, Surpassing Vivek Oberoi’s Last Release at Box Office

Mastiii 4 opens strong at the box office with a solid Day 1 collection.

Mastiii 4, starring Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, and Riteish Deshmukh, made a better-than-expected start at the Indian box office on its release day, November 21, 2025. The film clocked a net collection of approximately Rs 4.11 crore, including a gross of Rs 4.85 crore, marking a notable improvement over other recent Bollywood releases and surpassing its direct competitor, Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur, which earned Rs 2.35 crore on the same day.

The film arrived with moderate expectations amid a competitive box office scenario that included other releases like De De Pyaar De 2 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Despite mixed pre-release buzz and relatively limited screen count, Mastiii 4 showed promising occupancy rates, particularly during evening and night shows. The makers hoped this fourth installment would revive the franchise’s trademark humour and draw audiences back to theatres.

Mastiii 4's Day 1 performance also eclipsed the lifetime collection of Vivek Oberoi’s earlier 2025 outing, Kesari Veer, which had a modest opening of Rs 25 lakh and culminated in approximately Rs 1.88 crore overall. The current film’s strong opening places it among the better openings this year in Bollywood, surpassing films like Ground Zero, Dhadak 2, and even The Diplomat.

Though the film has yet to capture the commercial heights of previous franchise hits like Grand Masti, which opened with Rs 12.5 crore on day one, Mastiii 4’s initial response is encouraging in a tough market. Analysts suggest that positive word of mouth could play an important role in the coming days, especially as the film targets audiences in mass centres.

Looking ahead, Mastiii 4 is projected to collect between Rs 4 to 5 crore on its second day, potentially inching close to Rs 10 crore over the opening weekend. Its performance will be closely watched to see if the franchise can regain its former popularity amid evolving viewer preferences and stiff competition at the box office.
