Maniyanpilla Raju Admits Fleeing Hit-and-Run That Injured Two Bikers

Actor Maniyanpilla Raju appeared at the Museum Police station on Friday morning in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred the previous night at Vazhuthacaud. The case was registered after a car allegedly collided with a motorcycle, leaving two riders injured.

Police sources said the accident took place around 10 pm near the Trivandrum Club when a vehicle, bearing registration KL-01-CJ-04, struck a bike carrying two riders, identified as Nivedith Krishna and Suraj. The car is registered in the name of Sudheer Kumar Raju, the actor’s legal name, and the FIR states that he was driving the vehicle.

According to Maniyanpilla Raju, he left the scene out of fear and panic. The actor told authorities that he was returning home after attending a function when the bike allegedly rammed into his car at high speed. He assured the police that he would cooperate fully and appeared at the station the following morning.

Police officials confirmed they had attempted to reach the actor at his residence on Thursday night, but the house was locked and his phone was unreachable. “He appeared at the station in the morning and has been sent to the General Hospital for a medical examination to determine alcohol consumption,” said the Museum SHO.

The injured bikers were treated for minor to moderate injuries, and police are investigating the exact circumstances of the collision. The actor’s statement and hospital report will be crucial in determining the next steps in the case.

Authorities emphasized that leaving the scene of an accident is a serious offense under Indian law. Further legal proceedings are expected once the medical and eyewitness reports are verified.
