Madhavan Breaks Down: “Satish Ji Was The Wind Beneath My Wings”

Veteran actor Satish Shah, one of India’s most beloved comic icons, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74 due to kidney-related complications. The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in from across generations. Among the most heartfelt was R Madhavan’s emotional Instagram tribute, crediting Shah as a pivotal early supporter in his career.

Sharing a joyful throwback photo with Mandira Bedi and Shah—all striking playful one-legged poses—Madhavan wrote:

“Thank you for being such a solid wind beneath my wings early on in my career… for constantly believing in me and egging me on. You will be missed so very much, Satish Ji… A void that can never be filled… Rest in Eternal Peace.”

He added that “the heavens will be a merrier and happier place now” with Shah’s arrival.

According to Shah’s manager Ramesh Kadatala, the actor collapsed while having lunch around 2:00–2:45 p.m. It took over 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, delaying critical medical response. Shah was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai, where he was pronounced dead. His cremation took place on Sunday, October 26.

With a career spanning over four decades, Satish Shah became a household name through iconic roles in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Om Shanti Om. His unforgettable portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in the cult sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cemented his legacy as a master of dry wit and impeccable timing.

As fans and colleagues mourn the loss of a comedic genius, Madhavan’s tribute stands as a powerful reminder of Shah’s quiet mentorship and enduring impact—not just on screens, but in the lives of those he inspired behind the scenes.
