Chiranjeevi Takes Legal Action Against AI Deepfake Porn Sites Circulating Obscene Content
Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi lodges a cybercrime complaint over AI-generated porn videos misusing his likeness and image.
Renowned Tollywood actor and former Union minister Konidela Chiranjeevi has filed a police complaint against unidentified websites for circulating AI-generated deepfake pornographic videos that falsely portray him in explicit acts using his name, image, and likeness. The megastar stated that he recently uncovered the malicious content, which he described as “entirely fake” and created through unlawful manipulation of his facial features via artificial intelligence. Hyderabad cybercrime police promptly registered a case on Saturday under Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Chiranjeevi emphasised that the videos are causing “severe and irreparable harm” to his reputation, built over decades in public life, while inflicting emotional distress on his family and misleading the public with defamatory falsehoods. He alleged a sophisticated, coordinated cybercrime network where websites cross-promote, repost, and mirror the obscene material to amplify its reach for commercial profit and targeted character assassination. The actor has demanded immediate blocking and removal of all such fabricated content, including from mirror and affiliate platforms.
A senior police official confirmed that the investigation has commenced, focusing on tracing the origin of the deepfakes and dismantling the alleged syndicate. The case follows a recent Hyderabad civil court ruling granting Chiranjeevi an ad interim injunction to protect his personality and publicity rights from unauthorised digital exploitation. Legal action underscores the growing threat of AI-driven deepfake pornography targeting high-profile individuals.

The incident highlights urgent concerns over digital privacy, ethical AI use, and the vulnerability of public figures to non-consensual synthetic media. As technology enables increasingly convincing fabrications, authorities and platforms face mounting pressure to strengthen detection, enforcement, and preventive measures. Chiranjeevi’s swift legal response may encourage other victims to come forward and seek justice in similar cases of online harassment and defamation.
