‘Ground Zero’ Premieres in Srinagar for BSF Jawans; Emraan Hashmi Calls it a “Significant Milestone”

‘Ground Zero’ is slated for release in cinemas on April 25, 2025.

A special screening of ‘Ground Zero’, Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film, was held for Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Srinagar on Friday. The historic premiere was attended by the film’s cast and crew, including Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, and producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and their spouses Dolly Sidhwani and Shibani Dandekar. Co-producer Arhan Bagati was also present.

Set in early 2000s Kashmir, Ground Zero is a gripping tale centred on BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey, played by Hashmi, who led a crucial mission against terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba. Sai Tamhankar stars as Dubey’s wife. The film is being hailed as the first cinematic tribute solely dedicated to the BSF.

Hashmi called Ground Zero a “significant milestone,” emphasizing its unique focus on the BSF. “We have seen stories based on the Indian Army and police before, but Ground Zero is a tribute to BSF officers, their courage, and the sacrifices they have made for the country,” he told ANI.

Describing the operation portrayed in the film as “defining” in India’s security history, Hashmi said the story is both a tribute and a necessary reminder. “It’s a mission that played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation. The story deserves to be told — and more importantly, seen.”
