I’m in the Pink of Health! Karan Johar Shuts Down Weight Loss Medication Rumours
The 51-year-old director is currently following an OMAD (one meal a day) diet and maintains an active lifestyle through paddleball and swimming.
Filmmaker Karan Johar has refuted rumours that he used medication to shed weight, saying he lost the kilos “the right way” through discipline, diet, and exercise.
In an Instagram Live on Thursday, the director addressed speculation around his visibly leaner frame. “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumour suggests,” he said. “I want to tell you I am in the pink of health. I’ve never felt happier or lighter on my feet. I’ve lost my weight the right way.”
Johar said the journey began when blood reports revealed certain health markers that needed attention. “I ideally wake up with a spring in my step, and I feel ready to work with new zest and zeal. So, yeah, I love it.”

Rumours around Johar’s transformation surfaced last year when his public appearances revealed a dramatic change. While speculation intensified recently, Johar remained tight-lipped until now. At the IIFA Digital Awards earlier this year, he briefly commented, “It’s about being healthy—eating right, exercising, and doing your best to feel good.” When asked to share his routine, he quipped, “If I do that, I’ll give my secret away.”
Best known for directing and producing blockbuster films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, ‘Student of the Year’, and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, Johar remains one of Bollywood’s most influential voices—now with a new outlook, both inside and out.
