Dhurandhar Uncut Arrives on Netflix and JioHotstar Tomorrow
Dhurandhar's uncut version releases on Netflix and JioHotstar May 22 across multiple languages.
The makers of Dhurandhar have announced that an “uncut” edition of the blockbuster action film will begin streaming on both Netflix and JioHotstar from May 22, even as the franchise’s sequel faces legal scrutiny over alleged disclosure of sensitive military-related information. The announcement has generated significant online buzz among fans following the film’s successful theatrical and streaming run earlier this year.
Both streaming platforms shared promotional posts on social media confirming the release of the “Raw & Undekha” version of the film. JioHotstar described the upcoming release as a special extended cut for viewers, while Netflix India promoted it as a more intense and expanded edition available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film had originally released in cinemas worldwide on December 5 before arriving on Netflix on January 30 after a commercially successful box office run.
The sequel, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is also scheduled for a special premiere on June 4 before beginning its digital release on JioHotstar from June 5. However, the sequel has recently landed in legal controversy after a public interest litigation was filed in the Delhi High Court alleging that the film reveals operational details related to India’s armed forces and may compromise national security.

According to reports, the petition was filed by Deepak Kumar, a head constable with the Sashastra Seema Bal, who argued that certain scenes and plot elements in the sequel could violate provisions of the Official Secrets Act. During the hearing, the Delhi High Court reportedly observed that although films may qualify as fictional works, concerns raised by serving security personnel could not be dismissed outright. The court subsequently directed the Union government and the Central Board of Film Certification to examine the allegations.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Dhurandhar franchise has emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes in recent Indian cinema. Industry observers have credited the films’ large-scale action sequences, patriotic themes, and star-studded cast for their widespread popularity across multiple language markets. Reports have claimed that the franchise has surpassed several major Indian film series in terms of overall commercial performance and audience reach.
The films feature an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. Despite the ongoing legal concerns surrounding the sequel, anticipation for the expanded streaming release remains high, with audiences eagerly awaiting additional footage and unseen scenes from the original blockbuster.
