‘Dhurandhar’ Sold For Rs 16 On Pakistan Piracy Market, Claims NZ YouTuber

A New Zealand YouTuber claims Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ is being sold for Rs 16 on piracy platforms in Pakistan.

The upcoming Bollywood film Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar has reportedly been illegally sold for just ₹16 on a piracy website in Pakistan, according to a video released by a New Zealand-based YouTuber. The revelation has raised concerns about film piracy and its impact on box office collections.

In his video, the YouTuber demonstrated how copies of the film were available for download shortly after its release, highlighting the ease with which pirated content circulates across borders. Experts said such incidents can significantly affect revenue for producers, distributors, and theatre owners, especially for high-budget releases featuring major stars like Ranveer Singh.

Film industry insiders noted that piracy remains a persistent challenge despite strict copyright laws in India and enforcement efforts. “The digital age has made it increasingly difficult to control the spread of unauthorized copies,” said an industry analyst, adding that cross-border piracy complicates legal recourse.

The producers of Dhurandhar are reportedly monitoring the situation closely and exploring measures to limit illegal distribution, including issuing takedown notices and working with online platforms to curb access. They also emphasized the importance of supporting legitimate viewing channels such as theatres and official streaming services.

Legal experts said that while international piracy cases are difficult to prosecute, public awareness campaigns and stricter monitoring of online platforms are essential to protect creative content. They urged viewers to avoid downloading pirated films, citing potential legal consequences and risks of malware.

As film releases continue to face challenges from digital piracy, the Dhurandhar incident serves as a reminder of the broader threat to the global film industry, highlighting the need for collaborative international efforts to safeguard intellectual property rights.
