Dhurandhar Shows Strong Hold, Crosses ₹110 Crore in India

Dhurandhar collects ₹7.5 crore on Monday, crosses ₹110 crore in India in total, and has a strong start post-opening weekend.

Ranveer Singh's high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar has defied expectations by breezing through its crucial Monday test at the box office, amassing ₹7.5 crore net in India on day 4, according to early estimates from trade analysts. Directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri fame and produced by Zed Studios and Dharma Productions, the film—which stars Singh in a dual role as a master spy and his alter ego—has now crossed the ₹110 crore milestone domestically after a robust opening weekend that raked in ₹103 crore. The Monday figure represents a modest 40% drop from Sunday's ₹12.5 crore, signalling strong audience retention and positive word-of-mouth despite competition from holdovers like the animated Inside Out 2 and regional releases.

The film's impressive trajectory is fuelled by Singh's star power, returning to form after mixed results in recent outings like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Critics have praised Dhar's taut screenplay, high-stakes action sequences choreographed by international stunt teams, and Singh's intense performance, drawing comparisons to Mission: Impossible meets Ra.One. Overseas collections added ₹15 crore over the weekend, pushing the global total past ₹130 crore, with strong openings in the US, UK, and Gulf markets, where Singh's fanbase remains loyal. Advance bookings for Tuesday show steady demand, particularly in multiplexes across Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Industry experts attribute Dhurandhar's success to its patriotic undertones and timely release during the post-Diwali festive window, when family audiences seek escapist entertainment. However, the film faces challenges ahead with the upcoming release of Shah Rukh Khan's King on December 25, which could split screens and attention. Zed Studios, aiming to recover from recent flops, is banking on Dhurandhar to sustain momentum into the second week, projecting a lifetime India gross of ₹250-300 crore if weekday holds remain above 30%.

As the first major Bollywood tentpole of late 2025, Dhurandhar's box office run underscores a revival in original action thrillers post-pandemic, with Singh's box office pull—evident from his ₹100 crore-plus openers like Simmba and Sooryavanshi—proving resilient. Fans have flooded social media with praise for the film's twists and VFX, though some have criticised its predictable plot. With collections updated live by trackers like Sacnilk and Box Office India, the spy saga's Monday triumph sets it up as a potential blockbuster in a year dominated by sequels.
