Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Piku' to Re-release on May 9

Shoojit Sircar’s much-loved film ‘Piku’ is all set to return to theatres on May 9, 2025, to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Originally released on May 8, 2015, the slice-of-life drama starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and the late Irrfan Khan captured hearts with its tender portrayal of a father-daughter relationship.

The re-release will give fans another chance to experience the film on the big screen—and revisit Irrfan Khan’s unforgettable performance. Padukone shared the news on Instagram, calling Piku “a film that will always have my heart” and added, “Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often.”

Also featuring Moushumi Chatterjee and Jisshu Sengupta, Piku follows the everyday yet extraordinary journey of an ageing father with digestive issues and his strong-willed daughter as they travel from Delhi to Kolkata. With its quirky humour, emotional depth, and memorable performances, the film became a critical and commercial hit, earning over ₹140 crore worldwide.
