Awarapan 2 Day 11 Collection: Emraan Hashmi Starrer Inches Closer To ₹140 Crore Mark

Awarapan 2 nears ₹140 crore milestone

Awarapan 2 continued its strong theatrical run despite experiencing a sharp decline in collections on its second Monday. The Emraan Hashmi-led sequel earned an estimated ₹2.75 crore net in India on Day 11, August 24, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The collection represented a significant weekday drop but still pushed the film's overall domestic net total to approximately ₹139 crore, leaving it just short of the ₹140 crore milestone. The film recorded around 10 per cent overall occupancy across 11,344 shows on its second Monday.

Its Day 11 collection was 68.6 per cent lower than the ₹8.75 crore net it earned on the preceding Sunday. While the steep fall reflects the usual reduction in audience turnout after the weekend, the film's ability to remain above the ₹2 crore mark during the second Monday indicates that it continues to draw viewers in cinemas. Awarapan 2 had established a strong foundation during its opening weekend after arriving in theatres on August 14. The film opened with ₹22 crore net on its first day before receiving a major boost from the Independence Day holiday.

Its Day 2 collection jumped by 53.4 per cent to ₹33.75 crore net, which became its highest single-day collection to that point. The sequel followed its strong second-day performance with another ₹26 crore net on Day 3. This took its opening weekend total to ₹81.75 crore net in India. The strong start gave the film considerable momentum going into its first full week, allowing it to cross the ₹100 crore mark during the opening week and establish itself as a major theatrical performer.

By the end of its first week, Awarapan 2 had accumulated ₹113.50 crore net in India. The film then maintained enough momentum through its second weekend to significantly increase its overall total before the expected weekday slowdown. The second Monday decline was therefore substantial in percentage terms, but the film's cumulative performance remained strong as it moved towards the ₹140 crore mark.

The film released alongside Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 on August 14, creating a direct box office clash between the two releases. According to the available figures, Awarapan 2 has performed better commercially and has maintained a stronger theatrical run. Its sustained collections have given the Emraan Hashmi starrer an advantage as both films compete for audiences during the same release window.

With its India net total at around ₹139 crore after 11 days, Awarapan 2 is now within touching distance of ₹140 crore. The key question will be whether the film can maintain sufficient weekday collections to continue its run strongly into the third week. Although the second Monday brought a sharp decline, the film's performance since its release has provided it with a substantial cushion, and crossing ₹140 crore now appears to be the immediate milestone for the sequel.
