Awarapan 2 Buzz Grows As Writer Teases Possibility Of Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 3

Awarapan 3 May Follow Sequel’s Success.

Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, fueling speculation about a possible third chapter in the franchise. The film's success has revived questions about whether Hashmi could return as Shivam, the character whose journey remains open-ended at the conclusion of the sequel. Hashmi had earlier hinted that another instalment could be possible, and writer Bilal Siddiqui has now also expressed enthusiasm about continuing the story. The possibility of Awarapan 3 gains significance from the way Awarapan 2 ends. Shivam succeeds in rescuing children from a human trafficking network, but the conclusion does not provide a definitive end to his journey.

In the final sequence, he joins Nafisa's gang after she helps him, leaving the character in a position that could naturally lead into another chapter. Siddiqui, however, indicated that concrete discussions about the third film have not yet taken place. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the writer said he and producer Vishesh Bhatt have been occupied following the release of the second film and have had little opportunity to discuss the next instalment in detail. Their conversations so far have reportedly been limited to a few messages. The writer also suggested that there is enthusiasm for exploring Shivam's story further. While no formal announcement about Awarapan 3 has been made, Siddiqui said he was excited about the possibility of taking the character's journey forward.

His comments add to the speculation surrounding another sequel, particularly after the strong box-office performance of Awarapan 2. The second film's ending appears to have deliberately left room for a continuation. Shivam's decision to join Nafisa's gang introduces a new direction for the character and potentially creates a different setting and set of conflicts for a future story. Rather than closing his arc completely, the ending leaves audiences with questions about what he might do next and how his relationship with Nafisa could develop. For Hashmi, the success of Awarapan 2 also marks a significant moment for a franchise closely associated with his career.

The original Awarapan developed a strong following after its release, with Hashmi's performance and the film's music contributing to its lasting popularity. The sequel sought to build on that connection while presenting a new chapter in Shivam's story. The Rs 100 crore milestone has further strengthened interest in the possibility of extending the franchise. A strong commercial response can give producers greater incentive to revisit established characters, although the decision to proceed with another film ultimately depends on the creative direction, script and discussions among the makers. At present, neither the makers nor Hashmi have officially confirmed Awarapan 3 or announced a production schedule.

Siddiqui's comments indicate that the idea remains under consideration rather than being an active, formally announced project. The writer's enthusiasm, however, suggests that Shivam's story could have more chapters if the creative team decides to move ahead. For now, fans will have to wait for clarity on whether Hashmi will return as Shivam. With Awarapan 2 performing strongly and its ending leaving the character's future open, speculation around a third instalment is likely to continue. The next step will depend on whether Siddiqui, Bhatt and the wider team can develop a story that extends Shivam's journey beyond the events of the second film.
