Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan marked Holi this year with what he described as an “ek shaant Holi” (a quiet Holi), opting for a calm and simple observance instead of elaborate celebrations. The megastar shared his thoughts on his personal blog, extending warm wishes to his fans while reflecting on a more serene way of celebrating the festival of colours.
In a brief post written in Hindi, the octogenarian simply noted, “Ek shaant Holi.” He also shared images of traditional sweets prepared for the occasion and of Holika Dahan, symbolising the customary rituals associated with the festival.
Bachchan’s subdued celebration comes amid a period of reflection. His quiet observance may also echo the emotional atmosphere following the passing of his close friend and veteran actor Dharmendra in November 2025. While he did not directly link the two, his recent posts have conveyed a contemplative tone.

The actor also reflected on the significance of his iconic home, Jalsa, calling it more than just a house. He described it as a space blessed by millions that has sheltered his family for over three decades and witnessed key milestones, including the birth and marriages of his children.
Through his message, Bachchan conveyed that Holi, whether celebrated with vibrant festivities or quiet introspection, remains a time of togetherness and gratitude. His restrained observance this year underscores a personal, reflective approach to the festival while maintaining his heartfelt connection with admirers.
