Amaal Mallik Raises Allegations Against Tanishk Bagchi In Saiyaara Credits Controversy

Composer-singer Amaal Mallik has launched a strong criticism of fellow music composer Tanishk Bagchi, accusing him of taking credit for songs originally created by other artists and alleging that public relations campaigns were being used against him. The controversy erupted after discussions around the Saiyaara title track, with both composers making claims regarding credits and royalties. In a lengthy post on social media platform X, Amaal accused Bagchi of allegedly taking credit from original creators and claimed that the issue reflected a larger problem in the music industry.

He specifically referred to the Saiyaara title track and alleged that composers Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami were not given due recognition for their contribution to the song. "If I speak up about how you bagged the film #Saiyaara and stole the song right under Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami's nose to make Mohit Suri bring you into the film, then you'll know," Amaal wrote in his post. He further claimed that the original creators could reveal the truth if they chose to publicly address the matter.

Amaal also challenged the claims surrounding the song’s ownership and credits, suggesting that the release of another track, Saiyaan Mere, would reveal the actual contributions of the artists involved. He alleged that respect for professional relationships had prevented some individuals from openly discussing the matter. The composer further criticised Bagchi over his statements regarding royalties, accusing him of previously choosing commercial opportunities over standing together with other musicians on issues related to originality and credit.

Amaal referred to songs such as Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Masakali while making allegations about Bagchi’s approach to music production and adaptations.
