Aaishvary Thackeray Makes Dual Role Debut in Anurag Kashyap's Nishaanchi

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming film "Nishaanchi," a vibrant celebration of Hindi cinema’s essence, set to hit theaters on September 19. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios India, Jar Pictures, and Flip Films, the film marks the acting debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, who plays twin brothers Babloo and Dabloo—mirror images with opposing beliefs—alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra.

Set in early 2000s Uttar Pradesh, "Nishaanchi" weaves a tale of emotion, betrayal, and action, centered on the colliding lives of Babloo Nishaanchi, Rangeeli Rinku, and Dabloo. Kashyap, renowned for "Gangs of Wasseypur" and "Dev D," described the film as his most cinematic work yet. “It’s a classic story involving everything I grew up loving in Hindi films,” he said, praising the cast’s authentic performances and the crew’s dedication. He also highlighted the film’s music, which amplifies its emotional depth.

Thackeray expressed excitement about his challenging dual role, stating, “Playing twins who are complete opposites pushed me emotionally and physically.” Pinto, who plays Rangeeli Rinku, called working with Kashyap a dream come true, noting her character’s deceptive innocence and fierce spirit. Nikhil Madhok, head of India Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, lauded Kashyap’s bold storytelling and the cast’s outstanding performances, anticipating a captivating big-screen experience.
