Suzuki Jimny Gets Monster Hunter Makeover for Tokyo Auto Salon 2026
Suzuki unveils Jimny Monster Hunter Wilds Edition and Swift Sport Super Taikyu racer for 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Suzuki is gearing up for the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, scheduled from January 9 to 11, with the theme “Life with Adventure.” The Japanese automaker is set to display nine unique vehicles, including five show concepts, all emphasizing rugged designs, enhanced utility, and bold aesthetics. Some of the vehicles on display are familiar in markets like India, such as the Jimny and Swift, alongside other models like the XBee, Every Wagon, and Super Carry. Suzuki will also showcase two-wheelers, including the GSX-8TT and DR-Z4S.
Suzuki Jimny Nomade Monster Hunter Wilds Edition
One of the standout show cars is the Jimny Nomade Monster Hunter Wilds Edition, a special collaboration with Capcom inspired by the Monster Hunter Wilds video game. This edition reimagines the Jimny Nomade as if Suzuki existed in the game’s adventurous world.

The vehicle retains the off-road capability of the standard five-door Jimny but receives a bold graphic wrap featuring multiple shades and Monster Hunter-inspired patterns. Functional upgrades include a roof rack for extra storage, enhanced wheels, and subtle bumper modifications, combining aesthetics with practicality. Suzuki describes this edition as “playful and designed to spark the spirit of adventure and challenge unknown fields.”
In addition, the Monster Hunter collaboration extends to the DR-Z4S motorcycle, also outfitted with in-game gear elements, making it a truly immersive crossover for fans of the franchise.
Suzuki Swift Sport Super Taikyu Race Version
Another highlight is the Swift Sport Super Taikyu Race Version, derived from the previous-generation Swift. With the latest Swift yet to receive a Sport variant, this race-spec model carries the legacy forward. “Taikyu” translates to endurance in Japanese, reflecting its design focus on long-duration track performance.
This Swift variant participated in the 2025 Eneos Super Taikyu Series, featuring a 1.4-litre turbo engine tuned for racing regulations, a step up from the road-going 1.2-litre unit. It is equipped with full racing safety gear, optimized suspension, and reinforced chassis components to endure the rigours of extended racing. The Swift Sport Super Taikyu Race Version exemplifies Suzuki’s commitment to performance, durability, and track-focused engineering.
Suzuki’s Tokyo Auto Salon Strategy
Through these show vehicles, Suzuki highlights a dual focus on adventure-ready SUVs and high-performance race cars. While the Monster Hunter Jimny taps into pop culture and fantasy-inspired design, the Swift Sport race variant underscores engineering excellence and motorsport heritage. This combination of creativity and technical prowess demonstrates Suzuki’s versatility and engagement with both enthusiasts and mainstream audiences.
