Skoda Slavia Facelift to Launch August 18 With New Automatic Gearbox

Skoda Auto India is preparing to launch the facelifted Slavia on August 18, 2026, with refreshed styling, additional equipment and a new automatic transmission expected to headline the update. The midsize sedan has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times, offering indications of the changes planned for the new model.

The exterior revisions are expected to remain relatively subtle rather than forming a complete redesign. Anticipated changes include a redesigned front grille, revised LED daytime-running lights and an updated front bumper. Skoda could also introduce newly designed alloy wheels and additional exterior colour options, while the sedan’s side profile is likely to remain largely unchanged.

At the rear, the updated Slavia is expected to receive revised LED tail-lamps and a redesigned bumper. An illuminated Skoda wordmark could also be added to the boot, bringing the sedan’s appearance closer to that of the company’s newer models. Most test vehicles were camouflaged primarily at the front and rear, supporting expectations of focused styling changes.

The dashboard layout is likely to remain familiar, although the facelift could gain a larger fully digital driver’s display, revised upholstery and front parking sensors on selected variants. A rear-seat massage function, previously introduced on the updated Kushaq, is also being considered, but Skoda has not confirmed its availability on the Slavia.

Existing features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning vents, a sunroof and an eight-speaker audio system are expected to continue. Safety equipment is likely to include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assistance, traction control, multi-collision braking and tyre-pressure monitoring.

The principal mechanical update could be an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission for the 116bhp, 1.0-litre TSI engine, replacing the current six-speed automatic. The 150bhp, 1.5-litre TSI is expected to retain its manual and seven-speed DSG options. Prices may rise modestly, while rivals will continue to include the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
