Mercedes-Benz Unleashes Rs 2.90 Crore G 450d Diesel Beast in India

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the highly anticipated G-Class 450d, a diesel-powered SUV priced at Rs 2.90 crore (ex-showroom), marking the introduction of the most potent diesel engine in the brand’s portfolio. Unveiled on October 13, 2025, the G 450d joins the G-Class family alongside petrol and electric variants, offering Indian buyers a diverse powertrain lineup that includes an AMG model, an electric G-Class, and now a diesel option enhanced with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology.

Power and Performance

The G 450d is equipped with a robust six-cylinder inline diesel engine, paired with a 48-volt electrical system and ISG, delivering an additional 15 kW at lower speeds. Producing 270 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 210 kmph.
