Maruti Suzuki Jimny’s Global Triumph: Exports 1 Lakh Units
India-made Jimny conquers global markets with record-breaking exports.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has proudly announced that its Jimny five-door SUV has surpassed 1 lakh units in global exports, a testament to its widespread appeal. Exclusively produced in India, the lifestyle SUV, launched for export in 2023, has captured markets across more than 100 countries, including Japan, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and Chile.
In Japan, where the Jimny debuted as the ‘Jimny Nomade’ earlier this year, it garnered an astounding 50,000 orders within days, reflecting its immense popularity. The vehicle has solidified its position as Maruti Suzuki’s second most exported model, trailing only the Fronx crossover.
Built on a robust ladder-frame chassis and equipped with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP PRO 4WD system, the Jimny five-door is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, available with either manual or automatic transmission options. Its rugged design and reliable performance have resonated with adventure enthusiasts worldwide.
