Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Launch Edition Adds Triple Screens and Google Gemini Integration

Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 Sporteq launch edition as the new flagship variant of its electric coupe-SUV. The special edition brings significant changes to the interior and introduces a new suite of software-driven features, while retaining the existing battery options and electric powertrain. It will be positioned above the standard BE 6, which is currently priced between ₹18.90 lakh and ₹26.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The biggest change comes inside the cabin, where the BE 6 Sporteq gets three 12.3-inch screens arranged across the dashboard. This replaces the two-screen setup available in the standard BE 6. The triple-screen arrangement is similar to the configuration already seen in Mahindra's XEV 9e and XEV 9S. The dashboard has also been redesigned, with the loop-shaped element surrounding the driver replaced by a more conventional horizontal layout. This creates additional space around the centre console for easier access to the wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports and storage areas.

The cabin also receives a new black-and-tan colour theme, along with revised seat upholstery and updated dashboard finishes. Exterior changes are comparatively limited, with the Sporteq retaining the sharp styling, flush door handles, LED lighting and 20-inch alloy wheels of the standard BE 6. The special edition mainly gets Sporteq branding on the outside, keeping the overall design largely unchanged.

Mahindra has also introduced a new collection of connected and software-based functions under its TEQ technology suite. TEQ_Me can identify the driver and automatically load their saved profile, while TEQ_Talk brings Google Gemini integration to the vehicle. TEQ_xting allows owners to display customised messages on the rear screen. TEQ_Drive combines several driving-oriented functions, including Tribe Drive, Drift Mode and Acceleration Boost. The Sporteq also gets Revive SOS, which Mahindra says can provide enough charge for up to 13 km of additional travel after the battery reaches zero. The emergency feature can reportedly be activated up to five times during the vehicle's lifetime.

The equipment list continues to include features such as a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera and ADAS. Mechanically, however, the Sporteq remains unchanged. It continues with 59kWh and 79kWh battery options, with the electric motor driving the rear axle. The motor produces up to 286hp and 380Nm, while the 79kWh version has a claimed MIDC range of 682km. Charging specifications and performance figures remain unchanged.

Mahindra has not yet revealed the exact price of the BE 6 Sporteq launch edition. The new flagship variant is expected to command a premium over the standard BE 6 and will occupy the top end of the model's range. With its redesigned dashboard, triple-screen cabin and expanded connected features, the Sporteq primarily aims to enhance the technology and premium experience of the existing electric SUV rather than alter its core electric powertrain.
