BMW Reveals Alpina Vision Concept Previewing Next-Gen Luxury Models
BMW showcases Alpina Vision Concept previewing V8 luxury grand tourer and future Alpina models.
German automaker BMW has unveiled the Alpina Vision Concept at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, offering a preview of the brand’s future luxury direction under full BMW ownership. The concept signals how Alpina models will evolve to sit above standard BMW offerings while remaining below Rolls-Royce in the global luxury hierarchy.
The grand tourer concept showcases a dramatic design language focused on long-distance luxury. Measuring over 5.2 metres, it features a low-slung silhouette, a long bonnet, and a 2+2 coupe layout. The exterior carries Alpina’s signature styling cues, including a reinterpreted shark-nose front, a slim illuminated kidney grille inspired by classic BMW heritage, and crystal-accented LED headlamps with warm daytime running lights.
Inside, the concept prioritises opulence and comfort with a dual-tone cabin finished in full-grain leather, open-pore wood, and machined metal details. A sweeping digital interface spans the dashboard with BMW’s latest Panoramic iDrive system, complemented by a central infotainment display and an additional passenger screen. A standout luxury feature includes crystal glasses that rise automatically from the rear console using concealed magnetic mechanisms.

Under the hood, the Alpina Vision Concept retains a traditional performance focus despite industry-wide electrification trends. It is powered by a front-mounted V8 engine, with reports suggesting a 4.4-litre twin-turbo unit may underpin the production model. BMW has indicated the engine has been tuned for Alpina’s signature smooth yet powerful driving character and distinctive exhaust note.
The concept is expected to influence future Alpina models, with the first production version likely arriving in 2027, based on the BMW 7 Series platform. An Alpina-tuned X7 SUV is also anticipated later. The Vision Concept highlights BMW’s strategy to strengthen Alpina as a high-luxury performance sub-brand while maintaining a strong emphasis on comfort-oriented grand touring.
